2010 Music Conference!


Friends, I wanted to let you know of an exciting conference for Independent Christian artists taking place in Branson, Missouri in March.

Contemporary Christian Music Network International is hosting their music conference in Branson, Missouri on March 11, 12, & 13. There will be 10 seminars, 10 mini-concerts (15 minute sets prior to each seminar), and 2 worship services.

Following is a quick rundown of the seminars and what you’ll learn.

  • Running Live Sound - what equipment to use, basic EQ settings by Cameron Strange, Pro Audio Technician who has run sound and lights for Jeremy Camp, Jars of Clay, Sanctus Real, Michael English, George Straight, Neal McCoy, and many others.

  • Worship – by Jason Watson, Christian music artist, songwriter, worship leader, stage performance coach.
 
     
 
     
 



Increasing Funds During an Economic Crisis


The life of a Christian music artist... writing songs, recording, pitching to radio, singing at churches and venues and selling merchandise so you can use those funds to record new songs, pitch to more radio stations, travel to new churches and venues, and sell more merchandise. But, what do you do when you are in the midst of an economic crisis and the funds are not as readily available as they once were? It's expensive to record. It's expensive to put gas in the vehicle.

PART 2 - How do I copyright my songs? Is it necessary?


Technically, the creator of a song receives copyright protection automatically the moment the song is in fixed form. That means that if you make any recording of your song, even a simple boom box recording, or transcribe a leadsheet with chords, melody and lyrics you have secured a copyright. The question of whether or not it's necessary to register a copyright with the Copyright Office sometimes arises out of the fear that someone may "steal" your song.
